History of River View Sanitation

1972

Braun and Borth Sanitation was started by Mike and Norman Braun as Braun Sanitation, primarily servicing the Sleepy Eye Area.

1980

Brian Borth bought Norman's shares to form Braun and Borth Sanitation, Inc.  For the first several years the company was run by Mike and Brian with the help of one part-time employee.

1991

Braun and Borth Sanitation was awarded the Brown County curbside recycling contract for recycling services in western Brown County, which includes Sleepy Eye, Springfield, Cobden and Evan. This required the company to have a recycling sorting center with necessary equipment and the addition of employees. During the first 18 months of recycling operations, Braun and Borth processed 1,487,154 pounds of marketable recycling.

1992

Braun and Borth was awarded the contract for sanitation and compost service for residential and commercial services in the City of Springfield.  This same year, the recycling contract was expanded to include Comfrey.

2006

Kevin and Kathy Finstad started River View Sanitation Inc., primarily serving the New Ulm Area.  River View Sanitation was awarded the Brown County curbside recycling contract for recycling services in eastern Brown County.  They also started offering document shredding services.

2015

When Mike and Brian were ready for retirement, they sold Braun and Borth Sanitation to Brent and Rachel Kucera January 1, 2015.

Braun and Borth Sanitation was awarded the contract for sanitation service in Comfrey.

2017

After 11 years in business, when Kevin was ready for retirement, he too sold to Brent and Rachel Kucera January 1, 2017.

2018
